Accessibility

As a community centre we strive to be accessible to everyone. Please let us know if you have any access requirements and we will do our very best to meet them.

disabled access symbol Step-free access
We recommend that blue badge holders park on Kirkgate at the front of the centre as access from our car park is very steep.
The centre is fully wheelchair/buggy accessible via the main entrance on the left of the building.
The main entrance on the right of the centre (nearest the town clock) has several large steps making it unsuitable for wheelchairs.
Rooms 1 & 5 also have step-free access straight to the outside.
Inside the building, all rooms are fully accessible and step-free.
There is a unisex accessible toilet at each end of the building.

Deaf symbol Hearing and vision
Guide dogs are welcome in the centre.
A hearing loop is available for use at no charge.
A PA system is available to amplify speech to audiences – charges may apply.
Projectors are available to provide visual information – charges may apply.

Pushchair symbol Parents with children
Children are very welcome in the centre, but must be supervised at all times.
The centre has a basic baby-changing facility.
The main hall is easily gated to contain adventurous young explorers.
