Kirkgate Centre

As a community centre we strive to be accessible to everyone. Please let us know if you have any access requirements and we will do our very best to meet them.

Step-free access
We recommend that blue badge holders park on Kirkgate at the front of the centre.
The centre is fully wheelchair/buggy accessible via the entrance furthest from the town centre.
The Small Hall and Room 1 also have step-free access to the outside.
Inside the building, all rooms are fully accessible and step-free.
There is a unisex accessible toilet at each end of the building.

Hearing and vision
Guide dogs are welcome in the centre.
A hearing loop is available for use at no charge.
A PA system is available to amplify speech to audiences – charges may apply.
Projectors are available to provide visual information – charges may apply.

Parents with children
Children are very welcome in the centre, but must be supervised at all times.
The centre has a basic baby-changing facility.
The main hall is easily gated to contain adventurous young explorers.
If a private space is required for breast feeding please ask, but otherwise feel free to breast feed anywhere in the centre.
